Meerkats live in the Kalahari dessert Botswana and South Africa they are very intelligent animal they are small burying animals, they live in families of 20-30 meerkats. They have one meerkat in each group that looks out for danger while the others live underneath. Despite their protective behaviour they sometimes kill the younger members of the family. Meerkats call the others to say when there is danger like snakes or birds of prey or other predators. Meerkats are insectivores but also eat things like snakes, lizard’s scorpions, spiders, plants, eggs and small mammals
